Family Home Health Aide

Program in Florida

Florida’s Family Home Health Aide Program, also known as the FHHA Program, gives eligible family members and guardians a pathway to become trained and employed by a licensed home health agency to provide approved aide services for a medically fragile child under 21 at home. Dynamiks Home Care helps parents and family caregivers understand FHHA training, pediatric home care, private duty nursing, and home health aide support across Florida, including West Palm Beach, Coral Springs, Fort Myers, Sebring, Orlando, and Melbourne.

Important: Your child must already qualify for Private Duty Nursing, also called PDN, before Family Home Health Aide services can be considered. Florida Medicaid describes PDN as medically necessary skilled nursing for recipients under 21 who need support at home or in the community because of complex medical needs.

πŸ“˜ Your Child Must Qualify for Private Duty Nursing First

Before a family caregiver can participate in the FHHA Program, the child must already qualify for Private Duty Nursing. Private Duty Nursing is skilled nursing care for children with complex medical needs. FHHA is connected to that care plan. This means FHHA is not automatic for every family. Approval depends on the child’s medical needs, care plan, physician orders, training, background screening, agency participation, and payer requirements.
